Seen any Dinosaurs lately?

Dino Except in ancient pictures, mouse quiet museums and Jurassic Park reruns...I haven't.

Dinosaurs disappeared.  Extinction...right?

Why?

They couldn't adapt....right?

I don't want to become extinct or dim to a faded grey brown image or calcify to dusty fossil-hood.  No way!  I want us to blaze into Technicolor Hi-Def Brilliance and surround sound majesty...thrive, meet new people, create fantastic LOL fun and skip to the bank.

Here's an Anti-Extinction Action Plan we can count on.

Lemmings, Sheep, Drone, Purple Person...

Pcow Seth reminds me, simply; am I a cliche?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not surprised
If I walk into a hotel in the United States and find myself near the ballroom where a trade show is being held, I can tell, without being shown the room, exactly what the trade show is going to look like. Layout, booth styles, what the attendees are wearing... If I walk into a certain kind of italian restaurant in most cities around the world, I can tell exactly what is going to be on the menu and approximately what each item is going to cost. When I sit down on an airplane, I know exactly what the flight attendant is going to say, and when. When the phone rings and it's a person trying to sell me financial services, I know what she's going to say... (and you can probably guess the rest of this paragraph).
There's nothing wrong with not surprising people. In fact, most of the time, you don't want to surprise people. I don't want to be surprised when I use an electric drill, and I don't want to be surprised when they're doing surgery on me.
A Bad Marriage...
Kathy Sierra earns another Gold Medal.  If you have about 2 minutes and you're sincere about creating delight, lasting success, goodness and positivity....read Kathy's post.  Here's a snippet, click on the link to get the rest of her story.  If you're a Realtor....you are your Company.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Too many companies are like bad marriages

Beforeandafterrelationship

It's been said that the secret to a good marriage is... don't change. In other words, be the person you were when you were merely dating. Don't stop paying attention. Don't stop being kind. Don't gain 50 pounds. Don't stop flirting. Stay passionate, stay sexy, stay caring. Answer their calls. Unfortunately, too many companies are all candle-lit dinners, fine wine, and "let's talk about you" until the deal is sealed. Once they have you (i.e. you became a paying customer), you realize you got a bait-and-switch relationship.

This is such a big bowl of wrong. I don't understand this in personal relationships, and I don't understand it in business-to-customer relationships. Shouldn't you treat the people you're in a relationship with better than you treat anyone else? Shouldn't you treat your existing customers better than the ones who've given you nothing?

Unforgettable or Nobody Knows Your Name?

Inspiration...fresh perspective....ah-ha...hummmm....where do you find it.  Some would say it's swirls, gusts and gently breezes, surrounding us.  Can you sense it?  Sit still, breathe deeply, pause, reflect, consider.....

A bunch of us, twenty one of us actually, are getting together to converse about Scott's new book, "How To Be That Guy".  We going to meet at Alamo Joe's next week to share what we've learned with each other.  It's a provocative, easy to read, idea saturated, work of thoughtful perspective.

Scott regularly show up smiling in my RSS feed.  Here's a recent post I thought I'd share with you....

7 (more) Unforgettable Follow-Up Strategies

“I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

Recognize those words?

Straight from the mouth of J. Wellington, aka “Wimpy,” famous for his appearances in the Popeye cartoons.

Wimpy’s unforgettable character first aired in 1934. Interestingly, 70+ years later, his words still contain a nugget of truth: Tuesday is the day.

A 2007 survey conducted by Pitney Bowes revealed that Tuesday was the #1 arrival day for direct mail for three reasons:

1. It’s the lightest mail day in the U.S.

2. Having your letter delivered to a prospect on the day they receive the least amount of mail boosts your chances of the piece being opened and read!

3. Every other day in the week falls short.

HERE'S WHY: according to a related article in CRM Today, Monday is a bad day for contact because the Monday Blues will be descending and thoughts will be split between the weekend’s activities and the challenges that the week holds in store.
